I received my Bachelor degree from Kaohsiung University of Applied Science in Taiwan in Spring 2012. My major was English & Literature. My GPA is above 3.
Experience
I was tutoring at SFSU with students from diverse educational background. I have learned how to explain grammar and writing skills to tutees who are not confident in writing. As a tutor I am aware of how to incorporate different approaches to facilitate my tutee to outlining, planning, writing, and revising. Additionally, there is decidedly a need of motivating students to write. Thus, setting the goals and establishing the priority for learners are of significance to get them in the right direction in writing. For the school course I took ENG 415, grammar and editing class. The purpose of this class is to instruct students how to write academic articles and how to correct mistakes that are commonly made by ESL students. I learned advanced writing skills in this class and tend to use them for my tutoring. I also take ENG 653 Pedagogical Grammar and I was a teaching assistant in ENG 208 Grammar for Writing. These two classes are grammar related and what I have learned is not only how to help students to improve their grammar but also encourage students to keep up their work to achieve their goals. I was student teaching to a high-intermediate level adults learners in a composition class at Skyline College. I assisted instructor through offering mini-lesson to students on vocabulary and composition skills. I did lesson planning every week to teach 30-minutes activity and conducted writing conference three times a semester.

Hobbies
I am interested in watching movies, singing, and traveling. I have been travelling to many countries such as Japan, China, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Australia. I love observing different people and learning about different cultures through traveling. It makes me think of how beautiful this world is and how to contribute my enthusiasm of teaching to a variety of communities.
