Education
I graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in Physiology. I then went on to receive a Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Experience
I worked as an Optometrist for 11 years. In 2005, I started tutoring middle school students in science and math which I found to be rewarding and challenging. In 2007, I started teaching science and math for 6th and 7th graders at a private school part time. In 2008, I made a career change and went from being an Optometrist to teaching 5th and 6th grade science, 5th grade American History, and 7th and 8th grade Ecology. For the last three years, I have been teaching as the 4th grade teacher at the same private school I started in since 2007.
